jungleboy
I posted a few pics of some mushrooms like this I found in our woods last fall. I saw them growing again last week and took a spore print this time to help with identification. I’m learning! so I’m wondering if these are most likely shaggy parasols? as you can see from the photo, the spore print is a whitish cream color. It also grows out of a big bulbous base. The mushrooms started out roundish and then the cap flattened out into mostly convex shape. I cut the cap with a knife and it did seem to have a very slight reddish tint to it. I don’t think it is a false shaggy parasol because these were growing in a 100% shaded area with zero direct Sun. And the spore print didn’t have a greenish tint to it What do you think? xnme
Chlorophyllum rhacodes or Macrolepiota procera . Hard for me to determine cause I haven't gathered alot of these but Either way good ID homie! You took the proper steps, to narrow it down! If you had access to a micro scope, comparing spore shape and such with others (photos usually easily found on wiki) is sometimes the biggest determining factor. A couple links for info on both! https://www.mushroomexpert.com/chlorophyllum_rhacodes.html https://www.mushroomexpert.com/macrolepiota_procera.html
