Birdworms
I'm an experienced wild food forager, and have given a few talks and weed walks over the years. However, my knowledge of mushrooms doesn't go much beyond morels and puffballs. I'm looking for someone willing to help me with some hands on learning. Anyone in my area willing to allow me to tag along, or I have quite a few spots for hunting? This morning, I found what looked to be newly developing Resinous polypore, some stump puffballs, and what might be oyster mushrooms of some type, but there's no way I'm going to try eating any of them until I get better educated. I found this one a couple of days ago, which I feel fairly confident is a Bear's Head Tooth. It's branched and made a white spore print. There were deer tracks all around it, and it looks like they messed around with the top a bit. I do feel safe with this one.
