Laetiporus cincinnatus

Chicken of the Woods

Substrate: Ground

Location: Hardwood Forests

Spore Color: White

Pore Color: White

A great edible that is very easy to identify. It grows in a rosette pattern at the base of trees, and has a bright orange upper surface with a while underside.

Laetiporus sulphureus is similar but it has a bright yellow underside and grows on downed wood.
